Finally.. The “Independent” Objective Financial Review for FERS & CSRS Federal Employees to Make Sure You’re on the Right Track to Retirement.

Get past the missteps and confusing advice that takes down most federal employees before they even get started. A simple process is all you need to you help you get on the right path toward a successful retirement.

Even if you don’t understand your investments or TSP. Even if you’ve had one of those “free benefit reports” from another advisor (that left you even more confused.) Even if you’ve been burned before by another advisor who didn’t have your best interests in mind.

Hello-

We’ve all talked about wanting to retire comfortably. “One of these days,” we hope, “I’m going to be able to walk away from federal service. I just need to figure out the best time.” We know we probably should meet with a financial advisor but we’ve been “too busy.”

Months pass by and retirement is slowly, but surely, creeping up. It’s not that we just WANT to retire comfortably; it’s that we don’t know where to even START.

Hi, I’m Cooper Mitchell, President of Dane Financial, LLC and author at FedRetirementPlanning.com.

When’s the right time to retire? How much do you really need to have saved in your Thrift Savings Plan and elsewhere before we retire? How do we know we won’t retire at the wrong time, and then like so many others have to go back to work?

We know that we need a plan, but things like “having no time” hold us back, even though we know deep down that we don’t have time not to.

If we’re being completely honest with ourselves, the hardest thing about planning for retirement is taking the time to plan. But, not just any plan;one that will be successful and not leave us worse off than when we began.

Maybe you’ve talked to some of your coworkers – or you’ve talked to your HR rep to find out your options to come out even more confused than before.

Maybe you’re like one of the many people who contact me each week with one of the following questions:

  • “How much do I need in my TSP before I can retire comfortably?”
  • “What will my pension look like in retirement?
  • “How do I begin taking withdrawals and know I won’t spend through all my saved up money?”

If so, I have something I think you’ll like…

I have created the solution I believe you’ve been looking for, called The Federal Retirement Blueprint. It’s a step-by-step process that gives you the confidence you need to retire when you want and how you want.

This is specifically focused on helping you retire successfully, so you won’t run out of income during retirement and will give you a proper understanding of what you have and what’s available to you.

What does this mean for you? No more stressing out over when you’ll be able to retire from federal service.

No more worrying that you’re not allocated according to your risk tolerance.

No more wishing you knew  how taxes will affect your withdrawals or what all the numbers on your TSP and Benefits Statement mean.

“I Don’t Think I’ll Ever Be Able to Retire Comfortably”

Think about all of your co-workers who are waiting for the “right time to retire.” They keep putting it off for 6 months, a year… some even much longer!

All because they have no idea what to expect or if they’re ready.

Compare this to someone else who gets excited about the idea of retiring early, and jumps right in… only to find out 6-12 months later that they retired too soon, and now hat to figure out how to go back to work. Trust me… it isn’t fun to be in or even watch.

There is a better way – a way to analyze your finances BEFORE you make a mistake and retire too early.

You don’t have to be an investing wizard. You don’t have to know everything there is to know about your TSP, Pension, FEGLI, or any other part of your benefit system.

The important part is REVIEWING your situation and ANALYZING all of your options. I’m not interested in day trading your account, or finding some hedge fund manager who promises crazy returns.

My goal is to show you how to retire comfortably with the resources you currently have.

That’s right.

You’ll have a Federal Retirement Blueprint that is right for you. How can you be sure?

Because you’ll finally take that first step to completing the plan.

Picture this, every house you’ve seen built, all started with blueprints and a sketch of the first house plan. And, once you sketch out your own plan, you’ll finally be able to understand what you need to retire comfortably.

To finally send in your exit paperwork and not have to worry about whether you’re making a big mistake – I like to call it “The Sail into the Sunset Strategy” – and it begins with you taking the first step in seeing the completed plan.

Think about it: If your goal is to retire comfortably – then having a blueprint is critically important. It proves that your plan is actually doable. That’s why we feel it’s most important to focus on:

  • How much do we need to live off of each month based on our expenses?
  • Where will our income come from?
  • What happens if the market takes a turn for the worst?
  • Can I test my plan against different circumstances?

The Federal Retirement Blueprint is my proven, systematic roadmap to help you create a retirement planning strategy that you will give you peace of mind – because you’ve gotten a true, in-depth look at your financial situation. No more guessing.

Gain Clarity on Your Federal Benefits and Retirement

The Federal Retirement Blueprint doesn’t distract you with overly complicated charts and unrealistic projections that make you feel even more confused than before.

When you’re trying to map out your retirement from federal service, complicated projections like this can actually PREVENT you from feeling confident about your current situation.

The Federal Retirement Blueprint is different.

This is specifically focused on helping federal employees find the peace and comfort they need to retire comfortably. That’s it!

If it works, great – you will be able to live out your financial dreams. If not, you’ve only invested a modest amount of time and you’ll walk away with a better understanding of your options.

DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON BAD FINANCIAL PLANS!

The simple truth is, most federal employees could retire comfortably when they wanted…if they only knew how to make their TSP, Pension, and other benefits/investments work together.

What You’ll Receive:

When you go through our process, you’ll receive:

  • A specific strategy for retiring from federal service when you want and how you want – even if it doesn’t seem possible.
  • A Risk Tolerance Analysis to help you identify how you should be investing.
  • TSP investment help that will show you how to allocate your investments based upon your risk tolerance, time horizon, and other factors.
  • The 3 key areas that need to be addressed before you approach retirement planning.
  • Federal Employee Group Life Insurance price calculations  and comparisons that will allow you to see what the costs will be in the future.
  • Survivor Annuity Plan cost calculations as well as help in making a decision on a costly benefit.
  • Thrift Savings Plan withdrawal strategy guidance to help you maximize your withdrawals and lower taxes.

This Isn’t Just Another Financial Plan…

The Federal Retirement Blueprint evolves with you. Because of our technology partners, you’ll always have a live pulse on your investments and how that ties into your financial goals.

You’re preparing to retire and you’re not really sure what to do with your TSP or any of your other benefits.

The Federal Retirement Blueprint

This Federal Retirement Blueprint is a process meant to get you in touch with your financial goals like you never have before.

If you’re a federal employee looking for the solution to having a better understanding of your retirement, TSP, and benefits, then this is the process for you.

Step One: The Discovery Call

This is where we learn more about your current situation as well as your financial goals. We’ll assess some of your benefits such as FEGLI, FEHB, and TSP to see where you’re at and how we can help.

Step Two: The Benefits Analysis

We’ll create a Benefits Analysis based off of various data collected during the Discovery Call. This will show you estimated numbers for things like the Survivor Annuity Plan as well as you Pension.

Step Three: The Simplified Data Solution

By using RightCapital as our integration partner, you’ll be able to access all of your accounts in one central location. We’ll also be able to see how your investments are performing  as well as various other important metrics.

Step Four: The Road Map

This is the step in which things all start coming together. At this time, you will receive a document with all of your questions answered in depth with links and articles included. You’ll also receive the results of your comprehensive financial plan, a TSP Investment Strategy designed specifically for you, and any changes we feel would be beneficial.

Step Five: The Follow-Up

A few weeks after we deliver the plan, we will schedule a follow-up meeting to make sure you’re on track and see if any additional questions need to be addressed.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

1. How much time will this take?

Most of the time will be spent in the Data Gathering Meeting as well as the Plan Presentation Meeting. The time it takes is largely dependent on how many questions you have regarding your finances and how quickly you’re able to gather the information needed. We want to make sure we completely understand your financial goals and we also want to make sure you completely understand the recommendations we have for you.

2. What if I already have a financial advisor?

That’s good to hear, and most likely (not always) you’ll have a head start on many people who haven’t already hired an advisor. If you’re confident in your advisors plans, then we see no reason to hire another. However, if you want a second opinion or would like help from a Financial Advisor who deals specifically with the issues that affect federal employees, then we encourage you to give our process a shot.

3. Is the financial plan available for download?

Yes. You’ll be able to download a PDF summarizing various parts of the financial plan. You’ll also have access to our integration partner that allows you to view your accounts in real time to see any changes that have happened.

4. Is this only for soon to be retirees (or retirees)?

Not necessarily. Many federal employees who have just begun their careers could benefit from this process in helping them build a foundation for the rest of their career. Although the majority of people who use the Federal Retirement Blueprint will be near retirement, everyone could benefit from the process.

5. Should I be worried about sharing my data with you?

Our data integration partner has bank-level data encryption. This means they have the same security that your bank has in protecting your online accounts. Also, we never have access to your usernames or passwords as they are not stored. Finally, the system is what is known as “read-only.” Meaning, even if someone did get access to your account, they couldn’t perform any transactions.

6. What if I want to hire you to manage our investments?

If this is something you are interested in, we can certainly assist. We’ll happily explain our investment philosophy at the time as well as provide our fee schedule.

7. What if I just want help moving my TSP?

We can definitely assist in this area. We can show you all of your various options as well as what we offer including our fee schedule.

8. When we sign up, do you take control of our accounts?

Initially, no; using our data integration partner, we will simply have access to view your account as mentioned in a previous question. We do not actually take “custody” of your assets unless you decide to work with us for investment management services.

9. Should we be concerned that all our investments are synced in one place?

From our standpoint, it’s much more of a benefit than a problem. When all of your accounts are scattered in various places, it’s very difficult to have a true understanding of everything you have. When your accounts are all in one place for you to view, you’ll be much better able to reach your financial goals.

10. Does the Federal Retirement Blueprint include help with the Thrift Savings Plan?

Yes, it does. We will do a detailed Risk Tolerance Analysis and provide you guidance on how to invest within your TSP based upon various factors.

Not quite ready to schedule an appointment? No worries! You can ask us any question on retirement. We do our best to respond to questions via email within a couple days, and while we can’t guarantee we’ll be able to help everyone, we do our best to at least get you the answers you need so you don’t make a long-term commitment to a complicated financial product you might later regret. Just use this form to ask us a question and we’ll get back to you shortly.
